About Mrs. Emmer

I am Marieke, aka Mevrouw Emmer, mother of two (little) misters and living together with my Lief and our garbage can dog Vlieg and wire-haired miniature dachshund Guusje. In the spring of 2000 I graduated as 'Interior stylist' and in 2005 I graduated from the art academy as 'Graphic designer'. After that I also obtained a certificate for Dessin design.

When I was pregnant with our oldest little man, Mrs. Emmer was 'born'...how nice it was to design a birth announcement! And how nice it would be to be able to do this for others too! After some deliberation...hop, quit my job and get to work.

My work as an illustrator is my passion. How wonderful it is to see a smile appear on someone's face when they hold an illustration of mine or receive it in the form of a card, poster, tile, etc. That, in turn, makes me happy! I also enjoy: the outdoors - I absolutely love a quiet beach, but also city life, the beaming, mischievous, and innocent faces of my little boys, splashing in puddles, the smell of rain after a beautiful sunny day, people-watching, and unashamedly singing (and dancing) along to the radio. Oh, and coffee. Good decaf coffee is very important.

    Marieke designed the logo and corporate identity for my flower picking garden. Using a few keywords, she created a fresh and playful design that perfectly suits me and my business.
